ABOUT RAKHI

Born and raised in Dhaka, Bangladesh in an affluent family, Rakhi Mahbuba is an extremely down to earth, enthusiastic, multitalented, ambitious person who is a professional actress, model, television host and a Structural Engineer. She is youngest of her four siblings and is currently residing in Australia.

Rakhi got publicly recognised after winning the title of the most prestigious beauty pageant in Bangladesh- ‘Lux Channel I Superstar 2010’ and worked in the creative industry from 2011 to 2013 before travelling to Australia to pursue Civil Engineering degree in 2013. Rakhi graduated from Bachelor of Engineering (Civil) with a first class Honours in December 2017 from Edith Cowan University in Perth, Western Australia.Rakhi also graduated from an acting degree in Perth in November 2019.

Career

STRUCTURAL ENGINEER

Rakhi Mahbuba is a structural engineer and has worked in the mining industry as a graduate engineer in a world recognised oil, gas and mining consultancy company Wood. Some of the multimillion dollar projects she has worked on are- Gruyere Gold mine project and Kemerton Lithium Project in Western Australia.

Accomplishments

LUX CHANNEL I SUPERSTAR 2010

After competing with more than 10,000 girls, going through intense boot camp for 3 months with various challenging contests, Rakhi Mahbuba won the title of the most prestigious beauty pageant in Bangladesh- Lux Channel i Superstar 2010 on 24th of January 2011, making her one of the youngest beauty ever to win the pageant.

Education

BACHELOR OF ENGINEERING (CIVIL)

Rakhi graduated from Edith Cowan University in Perth, Western Australia with a first class honours degree in December 2017. During her degree she constantly held her position in the top 100 university students, was the top civil engineering student and volunteered relentlessly to increase participation of women in STEMM.

Education

DIPLOMA OF SCREEN PERFORMANCE (WAAPA)

Rakhi graduated in 2019 from a one year acting course from the most prestigious performing arts institute in Australia- Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts (WAAPA). She was one of the only 26 students who were chosen that year to study that degree. Rakhi is now currently signed with one of the prominent agents in Perth- Moore Creative Artists (MCA).
